Fish Dreams Series

Through the course of figuring out this screen printing on clay process, I have fallen in love with this series of work and show no signs of discontinuing it anytime soon. Underglaze base coats are brushed on greenware prior to bisque firing to ^04. A black underglaze wash is applied to the handle followed by the first round of screen printing and the second firing to ^05. Next, another round of screen printing is applied (black line work). I then paint the fish’s dream and the fisherman’s imitation with underglaze. Work is fired again, to ^05, to “lock in” the underglaze and to check for any needed touchups. Finally, vessels are lined with glaze and rims are dipped prior to heading to the kiln for the third and final firing to ^6.

Work is dinnerware and microwave safe. It is recommended to hand wash all handmade wares.
